If you’re looking to move your media monitoring to Streem, and your existing media monitoring contract expires in June, now is the time to give notice to your current provider before the end of April.
Unfortunately some Media Monitoring Organisations (MMOs) continue to include automatic renewal clauses in their agreements, meaning even if you aren’t happy with the service you’ve been receiving, and don’t provide written notice before the end of April, your contract will automatically renew for another term after June. Some MMOs use 60 day automatic renewal clauses, while others use 90 days. In working with many customers who have transitioned to Streem, we increasingly find the 60 day renewal clause to be most common – effectively forcing a customer to continue using a provider they may not be happy with for a further 12 or 24 months.
Many customers get caught by these clauses, which are often buried in the terms and conditions on an MMOs website, rather than within the written contract that you’ve signed with the MMO. This is a very unfortunate practice and one that Streem does not endorse or use within its agreements. Our Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are black and white, upfront and clear in our commitment to you.
With the end of April 2022 approaching and many customer’s media monitoring contracts aligned to the end of the financial year (June 2022), customers should carefully consider whether they’re happy with the service they’ve been receiving, and provide notice to their current provider of their wish to review their media monitoring services and that the agreement will not automatically renew. By doing this you have plenty of time to review other products and see potentially better options for media monitoring, analysis and social, including with Streem.
